Buddhist Chant – Heart Sutra

Buddhist Chant - Heart Sutra:
The Heart Sutra is considered one of the most important Buddhist chants. It is also referred to as The Heart of Perfect Wisdom Sutra, or Essence of Wisdom Sutra. This sutra is very popular among Mahayana Buddhists both for its brevity and depth of meaning. It also incorporates a mantra within the chant. The chant is so peaceful and meditative, if you need a moment in the day to regroup, this is the one to listen to. Be careful with this Sutra, though -- listen quietly with your eyes closed. This is a "Heart Sutra" after all, and hearing the chanting can often bring up emotions that you may not have known you were feeling. If you do find yourself welling up with emotion, relax, breathe, try to figure out what exactly you are feeling. It could be joy, sadness, regret, pain -- any and all of these emotions are normal and can be dealt with once recognized. Listen to the Sutra again, to bring yourself back to a peaceful space.
